The Youth Mentoring Network is recruiting for a new General Manager

Intentional Youth Mentoring is a powerful approach that changes the lives of young people – taiohi in meaningful ways.  The New Zealand Youth Mentoring Network (NZYMN) is the national hub for the youth mentoring sector.  We provide advice, support, access to resources and professional development throughout the country. We are guided by our values – Manaakitanga: we uphold the mana of others, Mātauranga: we promote knowledge and understanding, Tautua: we lead through service, Grounded: we are informed by cultural perspectives, and Collective Impact: we build energy, optimism and hauora.  Our General Manager leads a small team of contractors, and reports to our dedicated, engaged board of trustees.]

The role of General Manager encompasses all aspects of the organisation.  You will oversee a range of projects including our workshops and resource development, as well as our monitoring and evaluation work.  As the leader of our network, you will be the public face for intentional youth mentoring, further developing our strategic partnerships, and strengthening the youth mentoring sector.

A key focus will be developing new revenue streams through fundraising, sponsorship and new contract opportunities; as well as identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced manager with credibility in the area of youth development.  You will bring energy and empathy to your relationships and will be as comfortable strategically as you are being hands-on.  As the front face of our organisation, you’ll be an advocate, promoter and fundraiser whilst working behind the scenes to ensure best in-class delivery.  A genuine passion for intentional youth mentoring and its impact is essential, as is a strong alignment with our values.=

This is approximately a 24 hour a week role, and ideally will be a hybrid location with some time spent in our Auckland City office.
